Miracle Opportunities Outline for January 29 2012 message (PRINTABLE PDF COPY)

Jan 30- Feb 5, 2012-CMCC-Life-Group-Discussion-Guide (editing enabled format)

Consider the following statement on how a miracle works:

When there is a need or a problem sensed by a few who understands their responsibility and surrenders their all regardless of the odds then God works a miracle.”

Yes, our topic today is Miracle Opportunities.  What we are saying is in our land between moments, miracles can happen and God can bless us.  To know more about this topic, dive into our Life Groups this week.  Below is the Discussion Guide for our groups.  Happy learning.

Perspectives: Part 2 – Miracle Opportunities

Sunday January 29th, 2012 – Pastor Edmund Lucido

1 Moses answered, “What if they do not believe me or listen to me and say, ‘The LORD did not appear to you’?” 2 Then the LORD said to him, “What is that in your hand?” “A staff,” he replied. 3 The LORD said, “Throw it on the ground.” Moses threw it on the ground and it became a snake, and he ran from it. 4 Then the LORD said to him, “Reach out your hand and take it by the tail.” So Moses reached out and took hold of the snake and it turned back into a staff in his hand. 5 “This,” said the LORD, “is so that they may believe that the LORD, the God of their fathers—the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob—has appeared to you.”  Exodus 4:1-7

17 But take this staff in your hand so you can perform the signs with it.” Exodus 4:17

1)   Pastor Edmund posed the question – “What is your staff (giftings or abilities) and are you willing to surrender (use) it?” What areas do you need to begin serving God and using your abilities for Him?

2)   Joshua 3:5 says, 5 Joshua told the people, “Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the LORD will do amazing things (miracles) among you.” We are all aware of breakthroughs we need in our lives on different fronts such as relationships, financial, careers and ministry to name a few. What are you willing to give up and sacrifice so God can move in a deeper level with us?

3)   Pastor Edmund described how God, in his sovereignty, will still perform miracles despite our ingratitude, complaining, fear, unfaithfulness and “spiritual amnesia”. What is perceived as a Problem will still be used, like our shortcomings, to accomplish His will. Describe a time in your life that God has turned a problem around for your good and how you grew in your knowledge of Him.

4)   Read II Corinthians 12:9-10 as a group. Discuss the conflict that is presented in this passage with finding strength in weakness

5)   There are times when trust is not a matter of being earned but trust is established when we take a step of faith. What areas in your life do you need to step out in faith for and lean on God to take the lead role in your life?
